Statement
As
a child, I fell in love with the world of color
and was encouraged to paint by my mother. As
an English Major at California State University,
at Long Beach, I became entice with their art
department as a senior. I switched majors and
took two years of art classes: jewelry, design,
gallery display, and painting among others. In
1970, after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts
Degree, in Art Education with an English Minor,
I pursued art in various mediums, including fiber
art. Painting is my first love, all forms of it,
particularly watercolor, acrylic, and oil pastel.
Ive continued my art education under the
guidance of artists such as Jane Burnham, Chet
Amyx, Marian Stevens, Everett Jensen, and
Marian Galczenski and many others. In addition
to my interest in art, I am a community midwife,
assisting couples who wish to birth at home.
